Happy BJJ Student
As a woman, I was a bit intimidated by pairing up with the guys at first and was concerned they might be bummed out about getting paired with me, but I have, honestly, never, met such a nice group of people. The guys kept reminding me that everyone was a beginner at once and that it is just as good for them to train with different skill levels and people. The first week or two was a bit nerve wracking, as is learning anything new, but the environment and the people are so inviting that I still had a wonderful time. I have since felt myself progress so much that I am actually excited to get to class and pair up with whomever I get and continue to learn and advance. I can not say enough good things about Jeff, Ed, Jean-Claude, and Dan. Whether you're advanced in martial arts or just getting in to it, I absolutely recommend this place!
HERE'S A LIST OF
SOME OF OUR TRAINING PROGRAMS

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the single most effective martial art you can learn for self defense. Unlike most martial arts, Jiu Jitsu doesn’t rely on size and strength. It’s all about leverage and joint manipulation.
A smaller person could easily use BJJ techniques to defeat a much larger and stronger opponent. Since real-world fights often end up on the ground, training in a martial art that focuses exclusively on ground combat is both practical and prudent. An added bonus of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is that it will get you in shape.
Best of all, with Jiu Jitsu, exercise is fun, never a chore.
Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do translates in “Way of the Intercepting Fist”and was named for the CONCEPT of interception, or attacking your opponent while he is about to attack. Jeet Kune Do was created by Bruce Lee in 1967. The system works on the use of different ‘tools’ for different situations. These situations are broken down into ranges (Kicking, Punching, Trapping and Grappling), with techniques flowing smoothly between them. It is referred to as a “style without style”.
Unlike more traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not fixed or patterned, and is a philosophy with guiding thoughts. Also, unlike traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not the same for everyone. For example, when you study Karate, Kung Fu, or Tae Kwon Do you will learn and utilize the art the same way everyone who has come before you has. You could be 4’10” and 87lbs or you could be 6’8” and 265lbs and your Karate, Kung Fu, or Tae Kwon Do would look the same.
Kid's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self-Defense
In 4200 hours you could graduate from college, get your Masters Degree and your Ph.D. So why wouldn’t you let your child spend this valuable time learning skills that will last a lifetime? When our kids get out of school, their parents know that their child is being trained in real Life Skills. With our busy 21st century schedules, it’s hard to find the time and resources to really help them with these important life skills.
You would think and expect that they would learn about perseverance, positive mental attitudes, self-discipline and goal setting in school, but they really don’t. Students who attend Rebellion Mixed Martial Arts Academy have an advantage over others because we teach them about these important life skills and how to develop them to their fullest! They learn success traits that will pay off for the rest of their lives.
Kali, Eskrima, Arnis
Arnis, the most systematic and the best known fighting art in the Philippines is a reflection of the Filipino people’s history, their philosophy, and their culture. Arnis boasts a long historical development from the Kali systems. Kali (Silat) comes from the word kalis, which implies a blade, is the oldest form of weaponry in the Phillipines and is the mother to escrima. The naturally graceful, harmoniously circular movements used in the Filipino martial arts are characteristic of the methods found in other Asian countries.
In order to better understand the dynamics of the unique Filipino martial arts, it is to take a brief look at the historical roots of the culturally and racially diversified society of the Philippines. The Philippine islands has an area of 115,707 square miles. It consists of more than 7,000 islands, only 154 of which have an area exceeding five square miles. Most of the population is concentrated on eleven islands exceeding 1,000 square miles each, in three major areas: Luzon, the Visayan islands, and Mindanao.
